Not many of us guessed we'll see Russia in semifinals. Acccording to to the way they qualified they shouldn't be here at all, not to mention a potential presence into the final. To
crown it all the Russians do have a chance, that's only thanks to Guus Hiddink who's done a great job and converted an average Russia into a bugaboo of Europe. The Russians knew exactly what
they have to do against Holland and Sweden, the Greeks probably didn't enjoy Austria and Switzerland too much so they decided to go home, that being said we have a perfect Russia. One little
detail we seem to forget though, please remember what happened in their opening match when they got thrashed by Spain 4-1. That was another aspect of Russia, a bad aspect which proves there's a
weak point in their play that could get them down should Spain play tactically wise as they did in the first match.
I guess I don't have to mention the Spaniards have a better squad, a lot more potential in their squad so if they just stick together and play as a team the Russians can do less I'm afraid.
Spain may have won on the line against Sweden or Greece, or may have looked without ideas up front against a defensive-minded Italy, but they certainly know how to beat Russia. No matter how
unbelievably well may have Russia played so far I know one thing: if they get dominated sooner or later Spain will score and probably lose 0-1, 0-2; if they do attack (and have reasons to
believe so) they'll likely get another thrashing, everything will depend on when they concede the first goal. Earlier Spain will score worse for Russia who will probably try to rejoin and
that's exactly what Spain knows to do better: defend and hit you on counters.
I'll take this one today as I feel we may not get the same odds tomorrow.
Spain (-0.5) at 2.12 with Pinnacle, stake 8
