A street artist in front of St Stephan's cathedral wears the colours of Spain, left and Germany right in central Vienna, Sunday, June 29, 2008, prior to the final of the Euro 2008 European Soccer Championships between Germany and Spain which will be played in Vienna, Sunday evening. It's the EURO 2008 final ladies and gentlemen, it's the moment we've been all waiting for several weeks, the moment that's going to tick off the new winners of Europe. Spain or Germany? It's probably the most popular question this Sunday, and browsing a bit several boards and reading the press I've noticed the Spaniards are given better odds. It became more obvious when Ballack was announced out for the clash, so normally the handicap had to be influenced. If the starting price was more a mixture of +0.25 and level ball, now you can fully take advantage of Germany's price should you have any intention like me to back them tonight.

Major events like EURO are very popular, even if you're not exactly a football fan you still watch it because it's EURO, because it's the big final, that being said how people perceive the action has a major importance. And the bookies know that damn well. Like experiments? Ask the first guy you see when you walk on the street and amaze yourself what his answer will be should you ask him who's gonna win the trophy. And you know why? Simply, because Spain have better RECENT results...They don't give a damn on what happened a week ago, they only care what happened in their LAST match, roughly speaking..As we know Spain have put on a great perfomance against an average Russia (which were perceived as a very good team - REMEMBER THAT), and Germany have struggled despite the win against a helter-skelter Turkey..It's simple..

Of course now that Ballack is out they have a reason to their choice...but don't forget that we're talking about a final between two strong teams..Ballack can be out but he's not everything, moreover some rumours say he WILL play in the end...so like I said..don't put too much hope on that.

Talking about tactics I think the Germans have an edge when it comes to crosses and set pieces, alongside the fact they can play with the ball on the ground as well, I wouldn't say they have a weaker squad when it comes to technical skills either. All in all, what I think is: we have a 50-50% match tonight. With or without Ballack.
