I don't often bet on Cup matches due to their sheer unpredictability, however Boro won well for us last night, and the more I look, the more I like the look of 4 games tonight. I'm sure we'll make a profit out of these 4 tonight, and I'm pretty confident we'll land all 4.

Huddersfield v Sheff Utd

The terriers have had a bad start to the season so far with no win in 3 games. They let me down badly at the weekend when they got whacked 3-1 at home to MK Dons, and the manager has said he will be ringing the changes tonight in a game that will be very important to them.

The blades however have had a very positive start with good wins over Blackpool and QPR, this was after an opening day defeat to Birmingham at St Andrews where they were very unlucky to lose right at the death. The blades have a very good cup record in recent times, and I fully expect them to continue it tonight.

Pick - Sheff Utd 0,-0.5

Odds - 1.94 - 188bet

Stake - 5/10

Notts Forest v Sunderland

Roy Keane has impressed many this summer ( including me ). he has made some very shrewd signings. Not necessarily superstars, but solid premiership professionals who have been there and done that and who will do a "job" for the black cats. Malbranque, Diouf, Cisse and today Anton Ferdinand have all bolstered the squad Keane has picked. They were mightily unlucky to lose against Liverpool on opening day, and simply outclassed Spurs at white hart lane on Saturday. Keane has made it well known that he wants to do better in the cup competitions, and like boro last night , he will see this as his way to do that and get him into maccam folkelore.

Pick - Sunderland 0,-0.5

Odds - 1.83 - 188bet

Stake - 5/10

West Ham v Macclesfield

I hope that the main "banana skin" in this round of the cup was ar the Reebok last night, as surely West Ham can beat a sorry Macclesfield side that are languishing in the bottom of the top tier of english football. Curbishley knows that nothing more than a convincing win will get the snipes off his back tonight, and he will be asking the Upton park faithful to give him and his players full support. They're not short of good goal scorers at the club, and even though he will give the youth a good run out tonight, it's worth noting that superstars such as Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand all started out at the hammers acadamy and they are known for their exemplary youth development, couple this with the grizzled warriors like Parker, Ashton, Cole and Etherington will be far and away enough to blow away a macclesfield side that have yet to win a game this season.

Pick - West Ham -1.5,2

Odds - 1.99 - 188bet

Stake - 5/10

Blackburn v Grimsby

The Guvnor has his first taste of cup competition in charge of Blackburn tonight, and he will be desparate to make a good first impression in the competition. Blackburn started so brightly with a very good away win against Everton on opening day, but many ( including me ) were disappointed on Saturday when they stumbled to a 1-1 draw against new boys Hull. Ince will be keen to get things back on track and will surely do so against a Grimsby side that were poor on Saturday with a 1-0 home defeat against Chesterfield, and have only 1 point from their first 3 games. Ince will probably hand a debut to new signing Carlos Villanueva who is an exciting signing and falls into the heading of "could be anything". It is unsure whether he will play the likes of Santa Cruz or McCarthy, but even if they don't start, Rovers will be too string for the trawlermen.

Pick - Blackburn -1.5,2

Odds - 1.93 - 188bet

Stake - 5/10
