When I was a kid, the only golf course I ever wanted to play on was Gleneagles. The european tour comes to this ost magnificent of scottish courses this week and there is a match bet that must be bet big.
Ross Fisher is a young man going places. He has had another terrific season and goes fom strength to strength seemingly in every tournament he plays in.
He is a career high 9th in the order of merit after a year that has included a win at the european open in Kent, a tied 2nd in the HSBC, and 2 other top 10's to his name. He has a top 25 in Scotland this year as well in the scottish open at Loch Lomond, and he will be enjoying this return to "normal golf" after a spell playing in the open, USPGA and a WGC event in america as well.
He was a decent enough T20th at the KLM last week after a very impressive 66 on Sunday, and he can look to go well here this week.
Martin Kaymer is the german who is surely burnt out for the season now. He won early on in Abu Dhabi, and then again in his native Germany, but since then he's not really turned up with 2 missed cuts from the last 5 events, and the other 3 being 80th, 68th and 55th. The only highlight was a tied 14th in Sweden where he was one of the top ranked players to turn up.
He has had a good season but is burnt out. Fisher is strong and will continue to cement his place in Faldo's ryder cup team. The 5 par fives that the course holds will also play to his long driving strengths.

I am betting this close to my maximum here, as I really beleive we will collect.
