Villarreal-Betis

villarreal betisOpening match for the sixth round of the league. It's difficult to go against Villarreal because their streak at home is a thing to admire. They haven't received a goal in the league at home since February 3rd. They haven't lost there since December 2007... against Betis.

Betis use to take points when visiting El Madrigal but that's not my main reason to back them. I think Betis will be more dangerous away than at home. Also I've been watching their last games and although they have been irregular and got only one point against Sevilla, Barça and Real Madrid they deserved better results in all of them. Against Sevilla they should have won, against Barça and Madrid they started really bad but reacted in both matches and could have easily taken a point or more in both.

Villarreal is making a fantastic season with no defeat so far but their last matches have been a bit inconsistent. They are not playing good and the good news for them is that they are winning, like big teams that win even playing bad. Last rounds against weaker teams like Numancia, Racing and Sporting gave them 3 wins but with no brilliance and specially against Sporting they didn't deserve a single point. For this match they will rest Capdevilla (and they have no proper left back to replace him, Bruno or Angel will play there) Also Edmilson and Fuentes will be rested but they are not important. More interesting for this bet is that Nihat is injured again and Cazorla is not sure starter as he is not 100%.

Betis will miss Sergio García (suspended), but he has been a bit irregular so far and for sure he is not still at his best so though it is an important missing, he is far from being a key player in Betis now.

Tenerife-Alicante

Tenerife is a good home team that lately have been struggling because of their defensive problems. They receive a lot of goals but their coach will make changes in this line to stop this (Pablo Sicilia will start instead of out of form Juanma). Tenerife have to rely on their attacking style, with striker Nino as their key player cause when they try to be defensive like last round against Celta they usually lose. They have all squad available and will put an offensive line up (with almost no defenders on the bench) They only can accept one result today and it's a win.

Alicante after a bad start have improved and last round got their first win but still their coach is being questioned cause the board expected more and the team haven't played well. Today they have a tough task and will miss one of their key players, Capi, who was the star of the team in Segunda B. Jordá, Rubiales and Torrecilla are also out and although all of them are potential starters the team has worked well without them. Azkoitia, their best player and goalscorer so far, have suffered back problems all the week though he should start today.

Tenerife is one of the most difficult fields of Segunda and in normal circunstances no bookie will give more than 1,80 for this win but the bad streak of hosts and the good of guests have lifted the odds. Also Tenerife haven't perfomed so well at home this season so they need to make a good match to make their supporters happy.
